I said I should do more of this, because it's good for my mental health, so how did I do?
I took knitting on holiday, and got quite a few more repeats of the edging for the lace shawl done.
I finally mended the strap for the drum bag, adding big pieces of thick leather to the soft (torn) leather where it's supposed to join the bag. So far, it's staying on one piece.
What I've been spending more time and thought on, though, is cards. I've picked up magazines and looked at the freebies, I've bought bits, and I've made things. Finding a reason to make them is harder than expected, since I don't make useless things, but it's rather fun.
First one was for Dave's 50th, way back in March, because I couldn't find anything nice pre-made. I got a "forever friends" black&gold kit.
Starting back a bit, here's the second card I ever made, for Mum's birthday back in June.

Decoupage Westies from a kit, green background paper from a magazine freebie (it's supposedly Xmas paper), and the flowers are cut out of some self-adhesive wallpaper border from Homebase: I grabbed a foot of sample.
Next up, a magazine provided some seaside papers, and another magazine gave me the idea of "stepped cards". Then Dawn kindly gave me an excuse for making "get well soon" cards...

I'd originally planned to have gulls on there somewhere as well, but ran out of space.
Next, a card to enclose in a package that's going off to a friend.

It doesn't open. This is an old aperture card intended to frame crossstitch (I think). I used a punch I'd got off a car-boot for 50p to put star holes along the bottom, and stuck gold card behind them. The black star paper is out of that black&gold box, the big star is something I'd taken off a card someone sent me last Xmas.
We'll see what excuses I find to make more cards, but I have 3D butterfly-shaped ideas. What still puzzles me, though, is how to get thme into envelopes without squashing, and how to get them to survive in the post.
Next up, back to army painting, I think. There's these trolls.... and I have a to-do list to improve the Orlanthi, and the Lunars... and I'd like to get the Dragonnewt one done for Berkeley....
