Our doctors are wonderful (and right)

A report on both of us, this time.
I went back to the office for Thursday morning, picked up some files I needed, did a lot of discussion of what code is needed, architecture for one of the projects we're working on, DB design, and generally had a productive and useful morning. But I already knew a full day would be too much (if I can't do it at home, doing it in the office, plus the drive, is not going to happen). Grabbed a lasagne from Chilli Banana (world's best sandwich bar, right underneath our office), and ate a bit of it in the car, then drove home and ate the rest.
Then went blank for a lot of the afternoon. I'm doing detailed timesheets, since my work time is getting broken up, and I managed two hours work in that afternoon. It should have been five.
Today, after ten hours sleep and feeling that more would have been nice, four hours work so far - might manage a bit more later, but no bets. I'll have to put the rest of the hours in over the weekend. Looks like the doc was right - I really need more time off to get over this. The cough is back, and getting worse rather than better.
Dave went to the doctor this afternoon to return his nebuliser, since he's improved enough that he no longer needs it. Then at about 18:30, a phone call - Dr Edwards. His chest X-ray results had come in, and you guessed it, shadow on the lung, just like mine. We've both got pneumonia. He wanted to put Dave on more antibiotics (and they had a discussion of which ones, and why), and do it Right Now - please come round to the surgery to get your prescription. Another call a few minutes later, as he was putting shoes and coat on - while you're at it, pick up the form for the next chest Xray.
He got there to find that the health centre reception had stayed open past normal hours specifically for his benefit.
I've heard people saying that NHS staff work short hours for too much money, and don't care about their patients. This is, for us at least, totally untrue. They're great!
