Revel went OK.
Aug. 31st, 2008 07:39 amI'm allowed to think of it as a revel, not just as Miki's birthday party, now it's over and the association won't stress me out. C13 Andalusian meal for 50, cooked. No stress I couldn't handle. Some problems arose, and were sorted. A bit headachey this morning, that might be reaction, or maybe I didn't drink enough. I stayed over at Miki's, so now I'm awake and on the PDA, listening for signs of life from upstairs.
Looks like I haven't lost my touch for food. Seconds and thirds were requested of all dishes, even the couscous that had been done an hour too early and had to be rescued. One chap asked for an idea of how I'd done the aubergine puree, and got a copy of the cooks notes. Budget is done (as of 10 min ago) and has come in £35 under-spent. (The baklava I got Chris to pick up will have filled that gap nicely).
And I did dancing (gently) and heard stories told, and met people I hadn't seen for ages, and marvelled at how much their kids had grown. It was good.
