Re-enactors fairs? Who, me?
Oct. 30th, 2005 08:11 amTwo big re-enactors fairs this weekend.
And I'm not going, because:
a) I'm working from home
b) we spent too much money in the USA
c) no time, got to tidy the place and catch up on things
d) don't need anythng, do we?
Well... I finished all the work-type work yesterday.
What we bought in the USA was patterns. They're not much use without fabric.
Ali and Bernie the Bolt do cheap fabric (ok, the 6 yards of silk for the ACW ballgown won't be cheap).
And Mel invited us to a Burns Night do at which we'll need to wear kilts and things.
So...
look, it's a social event, right? And I know
guyelfkin will be there, and Tom.
Just got to grab samples of the fabrics the new stuff needs to match to, produce a few printouts of photos of the new dresses to show friends, drag the credit card screaming from its hideyhole, and off we go. To both fairs.
And I can sew along the way, if I find the fabric and the bear first. Small bear going to his first revel next weekend, I did him a little lace ruff last night, now he needs the rest of the outfit. I've never made Tudor male garb before, but there's black velvet asking to be used, and how hard can it be?
