Birthday breakfast, with bears
Jul. 10th, 2013 10:59 amToday I have a Dave at home! This would be cause for celebration even if I wasn't another year older (28 for the third time, going upwards, in my counting system).
Breakfast involved Bucks Fizz, hot croissants, bread that needed slicing (olive, very nice), smoked salmon, cream cheese... mmm!
Yes, "bread that needs slicing" is a treat, since I can't sensibly transport a bread knife across the kitchen to slice it myself. Husbands are, in this case, literally the best thing since sliced bread.
I have cards, both physical and virtual, featuring lots of bears and music. I have vouchers to work out how to spend. I have emails from forums I'd forgotten I was a member of, I have 10%-off vouchers from anything online I've ever shopped with, I have Facebook greetings.
Later, there will be a fancy lunch (Dave's cooking it), and lots of interesting nibbly bits for a salad dinner (he'll be gone by then - first night on my own).
A day off work, on my birthday! Yay, bounce bounce! Well, hop, hop.
Nothing as yet to unwrap, but that's my own fault for unwrapping things yesterday. I have a new folding grabby-stick, and some wool for the next project, once this one's off the needles. New needles may arrive later today - we'll see.
New treats arrive as I type... I have a letter from the NHS. CT scan a week on Friday. This is about a week later than I'd been hoping/expecting :( Also, that isn't a fracture clinic... and my "signed off from work" certificate will need extending. I'd been hoping not to have have to spend today on the phone to the NHS, but I may be out of luck.
