Dave has a weekend!
Sep. 8th, 2012 07:52 amDue to shift pattern, this doesn't often happen on a Sat/Sun, so when it does, we make the most of it.
Plans so far: half-day Friday, drive down to Amesbury, stay in B&B, have nice meal out. Plan so far working well. Today, plan is to have a lie-in (done), eat a full English (very soon), investigate a craft shop that specialises in card-making, and wander round various attractions (Stonehenge etc.) before heading off to a B&B in Newbury. Tomorrow will be mostly dedicated to Colours - wargame show.
The carpark is the B&B making use of the local health centre (not open weekends), and has buddleias. And I have a macro function on the camera.

If you're in this area, I can recommend the Antropus Arms in Amesbury as a place to eat. Great service, and wonderful food. We stuck to the bar menu, and the calves liver Dave had was the best I've ever tasted - melt-in-the-mouth tender. I had chickpea and spinach chilli with wild rice and a side-salad - both used coriander seedlings as a garnish.

Almost time for my full English now, then off to a craft shop that the local town newsletter tells me specialises in card-making, and then probably Stonehenge, Avebury, Silbury Hill, and thence to a B&B in Newbury for the night.
