Crafting continues with added "drat"
Jul. 2nd, 2012 08:57 amLatest in the drive to finish projects I'd started was a stretch chip bracelet that had broken years ago (well, been cut off my wrist with a sword) and needed restringing. I'd picked up the required elastic a while back, so last night, pulled out all the bits and did the threading while watching Richard II on catch-up ("The Hollow Crown" is looking very good indeed).
This morning, I took the lot upstairs to meet the Glue Box, tied off, and glued the knot (elastic thread unties itself remarkably fast). Then I tried it on, and hence the "drat". Elastic stretches, but not that much. I'd better find some more chips (must have lost more than I thought at the time), and have another go.
Or maybe the fates are telling me that I won't be wearing that bracelet again - sharp chips on the wrist aren't all that comfortable anyway - and I should make something else from the remains. A wired pendant, maybe. White quartz with a couple of other stones, one blue and one black. Yes. Mini-dream-catcher, perhaps.
