Mother's Day sans flowers

As reported last year, I am not permitted to give my mum chocs, nor to waste money on cards, nor to buy flowers. This year, she texted me specially to reenforce the prohibition on flowers. But I'd like to give her something, or do something, or make something.... last year, it was a poem, because I was in the middle of getting through my "can't do poetry" block. What can't I do this year? Lots of things, but what appealed was a go at using graphics software and the visual artistic talent that I usually compare to that of a woodlouse (possibly a dead woodlouse).
It had to be something that was not a flower. So...

Latest Jean Auel is out - don't bother buying it.

That was a first for me, reading a book and feeling strongly enough about it that I went over to Amazon to post a review. Others have done the same, and expressed similar feelings.

I saw it in Waterstones last week, and grabbed it - yes, hardback not paperback. Mistake.
