It's Wednesday!
Apr. 1st, 2009 07:41 amAnd end-of-month panic is over, and.... so, what's in the news that's appropriate to the day?
Classic FM told me as I woke up that the Guardian is going over to being a purely electronic medium. In particular, it's sticking to Twitter. Right....
yes, it's on their site http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/2009/apr/01/guardian-twitter-media-technology

This is a new one on me, but it comes complete with the usual collection of alternative spellings, source quotes going back to 11th century Anglo-Norman, various meanings...
What we also get is a link to one of the most famous contributors to the OED, Dr Minor: and here, I can provide a link. If this guy doesn't exist, he should.

The Telegraph has a collection of them:

and another advert email from IWOOT (I Want One Of Those). A look at their new offerings shows a means of converting a mobile phone into an electric shaver, a multi-Gadget (there's no other word for it), some clouds in a can, and contact lenses with a zoom function.
