Saturday night was good, anyway.
Oct. 29th, 2007 08:19 amOne of those random invites from Chris a day or so in advance: M&M and some others singing madrigals somewhere in London, want to come? So I looked at the diary, and did.
Wow. That group can sing. My previous experience of madrigals had led me to expect something melodic and worthy but dreary. It wasn't. "The Erato Consort". Five voices, five-part harmony, over-all tone sweet and wonderful - they could have been singing la-la scales and I'd still have enjoyed listening to them. But as it was, they were singing madrigals, and explaining them in advance, and singing them so I could actually hear every word.
( A rather poor picture of them )
and while I can't find a web-page for them, I did find a Facebook group here
And then we got back via the chippie, and had coffee, and Chris introduced me to Facebook.
