This morning (after cuddles - OK, in between cuddles) is "look at my new toys" morning. He'd spent the week at a big exhibition, and when he wasn't guarding things, they took turns to go round the stands scrounging freebies. So we have enough mints to last him the rest of the year, loads of mugs, pens, lanyards for phones/ID cards, a small cuddly rhino, some pen pots for the desk, stress balls in odd shapes, a frisbee, and many strange plastic things of uncertain purpose. christhegoth, expect a surprise parcel in the next few days, assuming I can get to an open post office.
And I was showing off the goodies I'd picked up fromstevieannie last night. When she'd mentioned an entire wardrobe of plus-size clothes going on Ebay, and enquiry had revealed it to be my sort of plus-size, my sort of taste, and all chosen by someone who has dress sense (unlike me) and the time to go round and find things in this size from quality labels (which I don't)... well, Lincolnshire isn't all that far to drive on a Friday night. Confirming that Annie really does still physically exist was great (we think it's been at least five years since we last attended the same event, and we probably didn't meet at that one), meeting her wonderful kids was great, eating her cooking was mmmm..... and I now have a load of clothes that make me want to wiggle instead of hide. I'd never have even found them through normal routes, never mind about at a price that would mean I'd buy them without feeling guilty. And our pricing policy went "how much would you get on Ebay? don't be silly, you can't give it to me for that little!" so everyone's happy. A win-win-win situation. Except that I didn't get as much as I'd have liked, because it turns out I'm not as big as I thought I was :)
Right, off to get some more blood tests done, post a parcel, and restock the fridge. Together. Hand-in-hand, where possible. Five days of no hugs is too long!
