A good weekend, but I'm tired!
Jul. 22nd, 2007 10:39 pmI did plan in advance to catch up on some sleep Thursday night, but even so...
Friday night, home&bounce, down to the Round Table for a LondonGlorantha meet. We went Chinese, we had a good time, we drank beer.

Saturday, up to Tolethorpe, just north of Stamford, to the open air theatre to see Anthony and Cleopatra along with Mel and gang. Because we're us, we thought it would be a nice idea to not only picnic, but to do so in costume appropriate to the Shakespearean period. It was gala night, so there were wandering entertainers, too. Pics under the cut.

After a bit of chat with the musicians, we ended up doing some impromptu dancing as well, which is always fun. We enjoyed it, the audience enjoyed it. Photo from Mel's camera, as used by a random passerby: I'm in burgundy, back left.

I actually found the play itself rather disappointing. Maybe if I'd read the script beforehand, maybe if acoustics had allowed more than 50% of the words to be audible.. as it was, I was missing a lot. Cleo herself was good, Anthony was good, but much of the Roman politics passed me by.
Started driving home about 11pm. Got back a bit after midnight. And seem to have spent most of today asleep :(
