Today I'm feeling happy, moderately bouncy (slight backache) and ready to start Doing Things again. Last night I managed a fun post to a Glorantha list in which I may have solved an interesting puzzle, and also blamed Argrath for it. New Ikea stepstool. Assembled. OK, this may not seem like much of an accomplishment, but when you think that the reason for getting a step-stool at all was that earlier this week I didn't have the strength to climb up onto a chair....

As usual for Ikea, it all went together nicely, all lined up, all parts were present, all tools included, detailed instructions work perfectly and don't assume anything is obvious. And they have a New Gadget: not only is there a allen key, there's a plastic thing that acts as a universal handle and gives that bit more leverage when you're doing the final tightening up. Yes, they do tell you to leave this much loose play in the main screws and tighten up afterwards. As I say, good instructions.
