Yesterday, I got a coffee from the machine, as normal, brought it back to my desk, as normal, then a short while later, noticed that it was leaking, poured it into a spare cup and mopped up the drips, and carried on drinking. And all was well, until....
"USB device has an error" or words to that effect. Popping up rather too often. Clicking on this gave no idea which USB device (an "unknown" one), but suggested that I unplug it. The webcam already was unplugged, the mouse was working happily, what else is there? Well, what else isn't there, everything goes through USB these days. I took another sip of coffee - and noticed more drips underneath the coffee-warmer. The USB coffee warmer that's also a USB port... I tipped it slightly, and coffee ran out of the ports. Oh dear...

Switched off, unplugged, and with paper towels applied, the messages from Windows stopped. This gadget has been in heavy use for the last two years, so much so that I use it for every cup of coffee without even noticing that I'm doing so. Tech is delicate, and sensitive to moisture, right? Fortunately I take my coffee black and without sugar.
It went round to the Ladies, and got put under a tap until the water running out of the ports was no longer brown. It got shaken, then put in the sun to dry. Today... it's plugged in, it's heated my coffee. No problems.
Meanwhile, I went to the dentist last week to deal with a filling that had fallen out. He found another hole in the upper jaw as well, took X-rays, did a temporary filling in both holes, and made more appointments with threats of root canal work if the X-rays say the wrong thing. Today - you guessed it. Here's the filling from the upper jaw.
