What if people were made of chocolate?

A very good post from[personal profile] catsittingstillthat makes an interesting comparison.

It's got echoes on FB and LJ, and some of the comments there are good, too. To quote a few:

"I like chocolate, I see chocolate, I take chocolate. It's just, y'know, chocolate. Chocolate doesn't have thoughts or feelings or opinions."
"Chocolate likes being eaten."
"Being told I look good enough to bite is not a compliment, except in those rare cases when I am interested in being bitten. Coming from a stranger it can be creepy."
"....sometimes the "chocolate people" will favor others with a taste...not a mouthful, mind you, but a pretty profound gesture of trust and admiration, if you think about it, that communicates worthiness and acceptance to one who may not be the one special person to be peanut butter to their chocolate for life, but who seems good nonetheless. To a connoisseur, such a taste is wonderful and healthy. To one with an uncontrolled hunger, it is a torment and dangerous to both parties, leading to complaints about being teased or "taste-zoned", and sometimes to biting incidents.

I occurs to me how much more wonderful a world it would be if chocolate people were able to offer such tastes of their awesomeness freely, without having to worry that some unrestrained glutton would EAT them...and that society would then blame them for tasting too good."
