Dave decided to have a few days off, have his mum over, and do some decorating. Apparently the kitchen ceiling was the wrong colour. I wouldn't know, I never have any reason to look up there. They've painted the ceiling and walls, and "tidied" the cupboards (thrown away a load of stuff that was perfectly OK but was past the sell-by-date, not told me, and not replaced it).
So, instead of having the dining table free for cutting patterns, it spent a few days covered in the books and glasses from the kitchen cupboards, and I had to spend/waste my time putting them there. Then we sorted out the cookery books (got rid of a load), and that took more time. Remaining time and energy is not enough to make a dress, not one that complicated. Still, for the Victorian ball my existing Posh Frock will do, and for the Unipath one, Dave's encouraging me to spend Money, possibly on this.
We're still looking at possible replacements for Little Car. Went round a few dealers on Sunday sitting in things and looking at specs, then on the web reading reviews. There's a few options, with the Skoda offering topping the list.
And just to fill up my free time, the hosting on my website needs renewing. Or not. I'd grabbed some much cheaper space elsewhere earlier this year, with the idea of doing a proper redesign as I moved it. Somehow, I never got round to it. So I spent last night FTPing files from old site to hard disc, doing some quick mods to chop out lumps that won't work yet, and uploading the results to the new host. Today I need to log into my control panel to get the mail server working, and start moving the DNS entries across. I need to merge my 5 or 6 Access databases down into one, too, the new site only gives me one ODBC link unless I pay extra.
I'm now using Open Office on the new laptop, and discovering what it won't do. One thing it won't do is open an Access database :( So I'll be editing databases on one machine (or in work) and testing on another.
Oh, and not only am I not entering NaNoWriMo, I've failed on NoNoWriMo as well. I did get an Idea last night, and drop an extra couple of sentences into the Great Kallyr Novel.
